Building Community & Connection Through Pilates
Hello Move Pilates Bend Followers!
It's my first Blog Post! What prompted this, you might ask? I need to put myself out there if I hope to build our community at Move Pilates Bend. And that is what we really are at the end of the day— a community of people coming to Pilates to improve our health and wellness through movement.
By strengthening our bodies and improving our flexibility and mobility we feel better. This helps to improve our mental health and outlook on life in a world where we often feel we have little control, especially these days. The mind-body connection of Pilates helps to center us, helps to keep us in the present and can support a positive and productive mindset.
Bend is a growing city, but still a community loaded with small businesses like mine. It's a city full of entrepreneurs working to start their own product, service or business. It’s full of charitable groups and people seeking to raise awareness and money— to help those in need or support the local schools and other programs that make Bend and Central Oregon an amazing place to live and explore.
In support of that, I recently installed the community "surf" board in the studio. A bulletin board shaped like a surfboard partially in honor of our proximity to the Deschutes river wave and in honor of the founder of Move Pilates who is now teaching Pilates for Surfers in Costa Rica— AND in honor of the Bend community of active and involved people.
Maybe you sell - or give away - eggs and are looking for people who want them; your son/daughter/grandchild is raising money for their sports team or club; you are - or you know - an amazing pet sitter... we have some animal lovers at our studio! I am hoping for people to use the "surf" board to post business cards or flyers for events or local businesses or services they believe in - including your own business or event - and want to recommend to our community. I invite you to participate! 🤩
See you in the studio,
Renee
